It’s obvious by now that my daughters are my world. I was blessed with two very happy and healthy GIRLY girls. My dream come true and my husband’s worst nightmare. He envisioned a life of footballs and trips to Sports Authority, instead, tutus, barbies, and lots of pink flood our home.
One of our favorite pastimes is shopping! The girls love trips to the mall. It’s a time for us to unwind and reconnect. Gianna, while girly, is less interested in trends and prefers comfort. Approaching double digits, she has sadly retired her bows and frilly skirts. Luckily, Mia makes up for it. Since birth, she has been a fashionista. She always loved wearing hats and accessories, favored dresses over pants, and shoes with a heel make her happy and content. In her world, getting a manicure is better than Christmas. Mia never leaves the house without earrings and matching accessories and already has a keen eye for styling. A girl after my own heart.
I thought it would be fun to partake in a small photo shoot with my budding fashionista. She loves dressing up and taking pictures with me too. Mother/daughter bonding is so important and individual time with each girl is crucial. I am grateful for our shared passion for fashion and using my blog to showcase our similarities is the icing on the cake.
Mia picked out a ruffled dress sure to impress and helped me coordinate accordingly. Fun, vibrant, and playful was our theme. My best friend agreed to take the pictures and we were on our way. We pranced around in our tutu skirts, dancing, laughing, and holding hands the whole way through. These simple moments are all too fleeting. I cherish them deeply. Down the road, when dressing up in tutus will be far too embarrassing for my baby girl, at least I will have these pictures and memories to reflect back on.
I thought it would be unique to culminate our “fashionable” experience with an interview. Meet America’s next top fashion blogger and stylist:
