We aren’t one of those families that takes multiple vacations a year, so when we do go on vacation, it’s extra meaningful. We never really hop on a plane to visit exotic islands or tour other countries either. Griswold style is how we roll: Pack up the family SUV and drive 3 hours to our getaway spot.
If you have been following along for awhile, then you know Lake George has always been my husband’s escape. It’s more magnificent than Hawaii in his non-worldly eyes. It’s obvious the man doesn’t get out much! All joking aside, he has wonderful childhood memories on the lake and wanted to create new ones with our little tribe. Lakes and I clash, but traditions and family time reign supreme. Hence, I never object.
This year, however, we decided to stay at a luxurious resort on the lake, as opposed to a small cabin. It didn’t disappoint! There was something for us all. This was the first time I visited Lake George and felt like I was really in paradise! The Sagamore Resort is breathtaking. The view of the crystal clear lake and rolling mountains made the perfect backdrop for blogging too. There’s something so serene about lounging poolside, with an open view of blue waters and captivating mountains in the distance. You can’t help but feel relaxed and at ease.
My husband and I have very little in common, but we vacation exactly the same. Sun and relaxation throughout the day followed by nice dinners and night time activities shortly after. Since our vacations are infrequent, we have no desire to cook or clean! Finding good food and top notch restaurants is our priority! We managed to achieve it all this visit! Vacation only reinforces how truly blessed I am and how much I love this little family.
Great food, fabulous company, and quality family time= the perfect vacation! Summer, please don’t end!
