This is my first post of 2018! I am super excited to see what this year has in store for my blog and styling business. I spent the last week adjusting to becoming a “puppy” mommy and seeing the kids back to school after the holiday break. Of course 2 days in, and they already had a snow day! The weather has been insanely cold and bitter, making it very hard to leave the house, let alone get dressed and take pictures.
Luckily, I received some very generous gift cards this holiday season. You know what that means: SHOPPING! Shopping makes everything better. It’s giving me the motivation and inspiration I need to tackle this winter and fight through these frigid temperatures.
January and February are tricky. Most of us have stocked up on our favorite sweaters, boots, and outerwear already. During these next few months we tend to hibernate and take a shopping hiatus. I can totally relate. I am here to tell you, however, that there are so many amazing sales on your favorite winter pieces, as well as new and very functional transitional pieces currently stocking the shelves. Winter attire never goes out of style and is always more costly. Take advantage and purchase what you can now. It will carry you over until the temperatures warm up, and will also be waiting for you again next season.
During one of my try-on sessions, I spotted this beauty from Nordstrom and fell in love. I am addicted to the current ruffle trend and can’t seem to get enough. I particularly like this top because I can wear it during the winter with a scarf, yet it’s lightweight enough to wear throughout Spring and Fall. As always, versatility is essential. It comes in 4 colors: black, yellow, coral, and ivory. Apparently, ivory is my go-to color because my closet is overflowing with sweaters and blouses in this hue. I personally think it’s such an easy color to accessorize and always looks chic and classic. The other colors are pretty too. The coral would be perfect for Spring, the yellow for Fall, and black of course, a permanent closet staple. You really can’t go wrong with any color. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite purchases and the price makes it the ultimate win.
I look forward to sharing some more of my recent finds and ongoing sales. I hope you are all settling back into a routine and 2018 is off to a fabulous start. Time for me to go and walk my baby girl Nola. Puppies are a lot of work and walking a dog in heels has been my biggest challenge! Practicality has never been my strong suit! Hey, “life is short, your heels shouldn’t be!”
