Rompers can be daunting. Too many buttons, zippers, and yes the dreaded strip down to use the bathroom, may be too much to overcome! If you love fashion, however, and are looking for a flattering alternative to dresses, give rompers a chance! They really are one of my favorite and easy to pull off trends.
I turn to rompers because there are so many patterns to choose from. Not to mention, they are very good at camouflaging those unwanted areas. Stay away from the shorter and tighter styles that have given “the romper” a bad reputation and are downright unflattering. Find styles that hit above the mid-thigh area and don’t reveal your butt cheeks!. They will look great with a cute sandal or a wedge to give that elongated and polished look. I particularly love the flow-ier styles that are belted. They conceal well and are super comfortable too.
Rompers are versatile. They can be worn to the beach as a coverup, casually throughout the day, and dressed up at night for a fancier occasion. They are fun and easy to accessorize. The endless prints and styles are an added bonus.
If you are apple shaped, find rompers that cinch at the waist or incorporate a belt to add definition and create a makeshift waist. If you are pear shaped, choose rompers that show more details on top, shifting attention away from your curvier bottom. If you are top-heavy avoid halter, v-neck, and strapless styles that will only draw attention to your bigger bust. Instead, opt for a style such as off the shoulder. Lastly, if you are boy shaped, the more frills, ruffles, and flared bottoms the better. These details will add the illusion of the curves you may be missing.
With any style or trend, try-on sessions are crucial. Once you find the right style for your body type, a romper will be the perfect addition to your Spring/Summer wardrobe.
