I love my hairdresser. We have a blast at every appointment and she always makes sure my hair is camera ready. What would I do without you Teeze Hair Design?! It’s no surprise that her clients are just as fabulous. At every appointment, I manage to make a new friend. During one of my weekly visits, I was introduced to Gail. We started discussing fashion and blogging. I learned that her daughter Leah is currently interning with Net-A-Porter, where she produces fashion videography for their site. Net-A-Porter offers a seamless shopping experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop. It has established itself as the world’s premier luxury fashion destination. She must be pretty talented to be working for such a prestigious company. I also learned that Leah has a keen eye for photography and loved taking pictures from a young age. Suddenly, I had a fabulous idea. Why not showcase Leah’s talents right here on my blog and introduce her work to my followers.
The best part about blogging has truly been the inspirational people I have met along the way. Individuality may separate us all, but our desire to succeed bonds us eternally. I couldn’t wait to meet Leah!
Growing up, Leah has always been interested in the world of media. She studied at the College of New Jersey, majoring in communications with a concentration in radio, television, and film. She was specifically intrigued with video production. She recently completed her master’s degree in public relations at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
The most difficult aspect of blogging has been keeping up with all of the social media platforms and navigating through the technical nuances. I was eager to pick Leah’s brain and gain insight. Only 22, she is a social media pioneer! I am in awe of how seamlessly and flawlessly her generation can tackle this foreign entity!
Gail was right. Leah certainly has a keen eye for photography. I love the artistic and photo journalistic vibe her captures convey. Her pictures would offer something new to my blog as well.
I have a few fall pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I have been eager to share, so a Fall inspired location was key. Leah suggested the Ramapo Valley Reserve. The reserve, very rustic, is surrounded by water and foliage. The perfect spot. Cloudy and on the verge of a downpour, we had to act fast. Leah was so easy to work with. She knew exactly where to shoot and made helpful suggestions. We connected instantly. I thoroughly enjoyed our session.
Young, persistent, goal oriented, beautiful, and bright, Leah is just getting started. Her drive, dedication, and determination to attaining her dreams is influential and motivating. Her future is bound to be as vibrant and unique as the photographs and videos she brings to life each day.
