I Am Totally Buggin

Sep 25, 2018

What was your favorite 90’s movie?  I have a pretty extensive list, but Clueless ranks high among the classics.  Can you guess why?  The memorable script and love-able characters are certainly cherished, but the wardrobe depicted is iconic and forever embedded in fashion history!  Who didn’t want to replicate plaid skirts, blazers, and knee-high socks after seeing Cher and Dion rock them in the movie.  Wet Seal was inundated with Cher wannabes after the 1995 release.  Needless to say, I was overcome with nostalgia when I noticed that these styles have been reincarnated!  If only now I was 14 again!

I am really loving the sweater- skirt combo. Just another way to get the most use out of all those sweaters in your closet.

Don’t get me wrong, while the 90’s were some of the best years of my life, I also made some very regrettable fashion choices.  Not everything trending again has me excited, but two particular styles certainly do.  The return of the jumper dress and faux suede mini skirts notably gained my attention.  While my knee-high sock days are over, I am loving the new and improved way to make these chic.   Styling them with booties or an over the knee boot, incorporates a fresh and modern twist.

If you are a more cautious shopper, you may be hesitant to explore this comeback.  I promise you, however, that there’s nothing to fear.  Rock these looks proudly.  Fashion is fun, right?!  If anyone refutes your fashion choices or the 90s resurgence, simply say, “As if!”

I love hats, but often feel silly in them! I decided to go for it this time and I am so glad I did. This fun accessory added a little extra to this 90s inspired look!
How fun is this plaid jumper? Throw a bodysuit or long sleeve tee under it and add a bootie to finish the look.
